Diagnosis
Carapace subovate to quadrate. Orbital margin enclosed, but orbital hiatus may or may not be completely closed; antennae positioned nearer to orbits and antennules, may or may not be lodged in orbital hiatus, flagellum occasionally inserted in shallow cleft at external edge of frontal margin. Third maxilliped merus notched at outer margin. Major chela with crushing or cutting molariform tooth; fingers of minor chela usually forceps-like. Male second gonopod with distal part subequal or longer than subdistal part, tapering gradually to tip.
