Tribe Erythropini Hansen, 1910
Introduction
The tribe Erythropini is a cosmopolitan group that occurs from the immediate subtidal down to nearly 6000 m depth. The tribe comprises 46 genera and about 199 species (Price et al. 2001). Eight genera and nine species are known from Australian waters. Müller (1993) and Price et al. (2001) catalogued the family.
Diagnosis
Antenna 2 scale present or reduced (in Caeseromysis and Gymnerythrops, and represented by a small spine in Arachnomysis and Chunomysis), outer margin smooth, without setae (serrated in Meterythrops). 3rd–8th thoracopods endopod with distinct carpus and propodus (separated by an oblique articulation). Marsupium composed of two or three pairs of oostegites. (Generated from Meland 2002)
