Introduction

This epigean species from Iron Range in far North Queensland is based on a single female specimen but was considered sufficiently distinctive to warrant describing.

Ecological Descriptors

Adult: phloem feeder.

Extra Ecological Information

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

This species differs from all other known Solonaima species by a distinct pattern of brown markings on the tegmen and it the rather obsolete median carina of the frons (this being sharply ridged in other epigean species) (Hoch 1988)
