Introduction

This beautifully marked little leafhopper lives in the Western Australian deserts. it has been collected in the Gibson Desert and on Lorna Glen Station in pitfall traps which implies that it lives close to ground level.

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

The two species of Gunawardenea can be differentiated by the dark markings on the head as illustrated at http://www1.dpi.nsw.gov.au/keys/leafhop/deltocephalinae/athysanini.htm.
