The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Comment:Index Kewensis gives Nees in Lehmann, Pl. Preiss. 2 (Nov. 1846) 103 where the name is again published by Nees with the citation "In arenosis juxta oppidum Perth, Sept. a. 1839. Herb. Preiss. No. 1834. (ex parte) – ad flumen Cygnorum, Drummond." Base name for Danthonia semiannularis var. varia (Nees) Domin.
