Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Text:"Lorsque j'ai reçu ce Burtonia il était étiqueté Burtonia violacea, mais c'est l'épithetè spécifique de conferta qui doit lui être maintenue."
Comment:A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 499 (1991), erroneously gives this work as the place of publication of "Burtonia violacea H.Jacq.". Jacquin uses the name Burtonia violacea in the article heading and the caption to the plate but indicates in the text that the name Burtonia conferta must be maintained.
