The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Etymology: "The epithet, muelleri, honours Baron Sir Ferdinand Jacob Heinrich von Mueller, KCMG (German: Müller) (30 June 1825-10 October 1896). Mueller was a German-Australian physician, geographer and, most notably, a botanist. He was the naturalist on the Augustus Gregory exploration that explored the Victoria River and other portions of North Australia. He also accompanied Gregory's expedition overland to Moreton Bay. Mueller found nearly 800 new species on these expeditions, which he published in his Definition of Rare or Hitherto Undescribed Australian Plants. From 1857 to 1873, he was director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne."
