Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Text:"Davis (1948) [i.e. Davis, G.L. Revision of the genus Brachycome Cass. Part. I. Australian species. Proceedings of the Linnean
Society of New South Wales 73: 142–241 (1948)] could not locate syntype material but included the name in synonymy under B. rigidula, a placement in accord with Bentham (1867) [i.e. i.e. Bentham, G. Brachycome Cass. In: Flora Australiensis: a description of the plants of the Australian territory 3: 508–521. (Lovell Reeve & Co.: London) (1867)] placing it in synonymy, along with the names B. squalida, B. multicaulis and Steiroglossa rigidula under his B. ciliaris var. robusta Benth. This may well be correct but
Walpers recorded it as having affinities with B. tenera.
