The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Etymology:"The species epithet is in honor of Leon Perrie, based at the Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa,
Wellington, for his contributions to the pteridology in Oceania. He also collected the type of this new species."
