The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. APC Comment:A hybrid taxon probably involving Cenchrus macrostachys (Brongn.) Trin. and C. setaceus. Recorded by B.K.Simon, Austrobaileya 8: 191 (2010), but not known outside of cultivation in Australia (B.K.Simon, pers. comm. 2011).
