The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Comment: A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 1700 (1991) stated that Poiret did not validly make this combination, possibly in the belief that Poiret had not definitely associated the genus name and specific epithet. However, Poiret consistently uses the name of the genus in which he is making a combination followed by the base name in parentheses. This is here considered to be a typographical device that associates the genus name and specific epithet as required for valid publication under ICN Art. 35.2 and 35.2 Ex. 5 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
