George, A.S. (25 January 1996), New taxa and a new infrageneric classification in Dryandra R.Br. (Proteaceae: Grevilleoideae). Nuytsia 10(3): 383-384 [tax. nov.]
  • Type: 17 km E of Red Gum Pass turnoff on Salt River Rd, Stirling Range National Park, Western Australia, 25 November 1986, M. Pieroni 26 (holo: PERTH 04225856; iso: CANB, NSW, PERTH 04225864). [Type collection should read "M.Pieroni s.n.". M. Pieroni 26 is a different taxon (Verticordia, collected October 1986). R. Rees (PERTH, pers. comm. July 2013), corroborated that the jewellers tag on the holotype at PERTH reads "sp. No 26 aff. plumose." The number 26 on the tag refers to an informal "species number" and not a collection number.]
  • Etymology: "The epithet is derived from the name of the nearest relative D. plumosa with the suffix pseudo- to indicate its close resemblance without being the same."
