Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Etymology:"The epithet, finlaysoniana, honours Mr George Finlayson (1790-1823), Scottish surgeon and naturalist to the mission sent to Siam and Cochin-china by the Bengal Government in 1821. Finlayson was called one of the finest naturalists of his day, and was noted for his pioneering studies of the plants, animals and people of southern Thailand and the Malay peninsula."
