Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Type:"In Novâ Hollandiâ (Cunningh.!) ... (v.s. in h. Hook.)" [given by A.J.Scott, Feddes Repert. 89 (1978) 10 as "New South Wales, Lachlan River; CUNNINGHAM 384 (K–holo.!, BM–iso.!)."].
Comment:A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2507 (1991) lists "Rhagodia prostrata Benth." as an invalid name not accepted by its author. However, Bentham's listing of R. prostrata clearly refers to Moquin and this is here treated as a secondary reference rather than an attempt to coin a new name.
