Etymology:
"Named for Alfred Lejourdan, ‘Ingénieur agricole, Directeur du Jardin des Plantes’ an agricultural engineer and Director at the Jardin botanique E.M. Heckel (Jardin botanique de Marseille). Lejourdan was one of Mueller’s correspondents and supplied seeds to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne. He was best known for his 1864 treatise De La Maladie Noire Des Plantes."
