Fabaceae Lindl.
Jacksonia clarkii F.Muell. , legitimate, scientific
Mueller, F.J.H. von (31 August 1887), Descriptive record of two plants additional to the flora of Australia, and occurring in New South Wales. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales, Series 2 2: 193 BHL [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "On the Upper Hastings River (Dr. Herm. Beckler); on the Upper Delegate River (Mr. A. Clarke)."
  • Etymology: (not specified.) [but presumably named in honour of "Mr. A. Clarke", one of the collectors of the original material]
  • Comment: Mueller gave the epithet of this name as clarkii but cited the name of the collector as "Mr. A. Clarke", and in several subsequent publications used the form "clarkei". The identity of the collector is uncertain but the spelling of the surname on the lectotype specimen at MEL is "Clark". Mueller's original spelling of the epithet is thus maintained here in the absence of unequivocal evidence of the need for correction.
