• Comment: nom. illeg., non Thouars (1822). Bailey discusses this taxon as being a variety of Dendrobium speciosum but also states that he had "described it under the name D. fusiforme", thus publishing a combination at species rank. There is no known earlier reference in which Bailey listed the name.
• Comment: The names “Dendrobium fusiforme (Bailey) Bailey var. fusiforme” and “Dendrobium fusiforme (Bailey) Bailey f. fusiforme” are listed by A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 945 (1991), but since the species name is illegitimate these autonyms are not established, in accordance with ICN Art. 27.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
