  • Comment: The description of Dendrobium cassythoides is included by Lindley in notes under an illustration and description of another speces, Dendrobium densiflorum Lindl. ex Wall. Lindley indicates that the description of D. cassythoides is quoted directly from a "memorandum" sent to him by Allan Cunningham. In the quoted text Allan Cunningham acknowledges that the species name and description were provided in a letter sent to him with the specimen by his brother, Richard. The authorship of the name is thus here accepted as ascribed to R.Cunn. (ICN Art. 46.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)).
