Basionym of Aspidium capense (L.f.) Willd., which is a later isonym of Aspidium capense (L.f.) Sw. The latter name has been misapplied to Lastreopsis calantha (Endl.) Tindale and Polystichum whiteleggei Watts on NI and LHI respectively.
