"Australia, Northern Territory, Keep River, in dissected sandstone hills W of river [15°48′S, 129°04′E], ca. 30 km E of Kununurra, in light brown sand. Shrub 3 m tall; flowers pale purple with deep red center; local population of ca. 20 plants, 20 June 1985, Fryxell, Craven & Stewart 4870 (holotype: CANB; isotypes: AD, BH, DNA, K, L, MARY, MEL, NY, PERTH, US, pf)."
