• Comment: nom. illeg. Parmentier includes Drimys aromatica (R.Br. ex DC.) F.Muell. (1862) and, indirectly, the basionym Tasmannia aromatica R.Br. ex DC. (1817) in synonymy of his Drimys xerophila var. aromatica. This renders the species name illegitimate, as the epithet aromatica pre-dates xerophila and ought to have been adopted by Parmentier.
