Authorship sometimes attributed to "(Cav. ex DC.) Benth." However, G.Bentham, Cat. pl. Pyrenees 95 (1826), referred to "Thlaspi heterophyllum DC.?", the query sign indicating uncertainty as to whether L. heterophyllum and de Candolle's T. heterophyllum were the same taxon. Accordingly, L. heterophyllum is here considered a sp. nov. published by Bentham (K. Ghandi, pers. comm. 2007).
