While Bentham and Hooker treat Tetranthera Jacq. as a synonym of Litsea, they do not make any combinations at specific rank. Mueller publishes the species name via his citation of "B.fl. V,306" [i.e. G.Bentham, Fl. Austral. 5: 306 (1870)], where Tetranthera reticulata Meisn. is cited, with a full reference to its place of its publication. This constitutes indirect reference to the basionym by Mueller.
