Taxonomy of introduced apomictic Taraxacum in Australia is not well understood. The name Taraxacum officinale F.H.Wigg. has been applied (in the sense of a species aggregate) to these taxa, but defined taxonomic limits and appropriate nomenclature is lacking for Australian plants.
