"The brief description could apply to a variegated variant of either C. fruticosa, which was widely cultivated in south-eastern Qld at the time, or C. rubra which occurs naturally close Pimpama, Qld, where the plant was reported to be found 'a few years ago by Mr W.T.Bailey'. No specimens annotated by F.M.Bailey have been found."

A name of uncertain application, possibly referable to Cordyline fruticosa or C. rubra (see L.Pedley in A.S.George (ed.), Fl. Australia 46: 85 (1986)).
