"Byam Martin Island, Bonaparte Archipelago (124°22′E, 15°24′S), growing in alluvium; coll. P.G. Wilson 11513, 11 July 1973 (holotype: PERTH; isotypes: M, PERTH)."

Etymology:
"The specific epithet, meaning "become glabrous", refers to the tepals, in which the sparse pubescence soon wears off."
