• Etymology: "The generic name is derived from Gk. aktites, a coast dweller."
• Comment: The sole included species name was given as "Actites megalocarpa" by the original author, indicating feminine gender for the genus. It is nonetheless here treated as masculine under ICN Art. 62.4 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
