Pl. 2: 655 (1876), indicate their opinion that the taxa treated by A.Richard under Sersalisia should be placed in Sideroxylon they do not definitely associate the genus name and specific epithet as required by ICN Art. 35.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018). A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2653, in obs. (1991), stated that the species combination was also made by Bailey, but Bailey's citation is here treated as a secondary reference to Engler's name with a correctable error in citation.
