  • APC Comment: The voucher specimen associated with the phrase name "Comesperma sp. A Kimberley Flora (K.F.Kenneally 9242)" has since been re-identified as Comesperma secundum DC. This should not be confused with the specimen described and illustrated in Fl. Kimberley Reg. 639, fig. 197B (1992), which represents the taxon currently known as Comesperma sp. A Kimberley Flora (D.W.Rust 8) WA Herbarium [PERTH accession 01854593].

  • Etymology: "The epithet secundum is derived from the Latin secundus (turned towards the same side), alluding to this species having upturned pedicels. This condition is not obvious in many herbarium specimens, although in the field, it is clearly seen, especially where the plant is leaning and the pedicels closest to the ground are upturned (and curved) towards the inflorescence rhachis."
