  • Lectotype: "tropical Australia, J.Banks & D.Solander s.n. (lecto, designated here: BM 001044066*).
  • Text: "Green (1988, p. 653) designated Schultz 796 (K 001057997*) as the neotype for Pteris nitida, based on the purported absence of a Brown specimen of the species. Brown (1810) specifically referenced seeing dried material and the Banks & Solander specimen (BM 001044066) is the only known available material collected prior to Brown’s publication and held at BM. Although Brown did not specifically cite ‘B’ [i.e. Banks and Solander material], it is here selected as the lectotype, superseding Green’s unnecessary neotypification."
