  • Text: "Without seeing the type I cannot be sure of the identity of this species, but it is possible it is the same taxon that was described by Schlechtendal in 1847 as A. retinodes. Specimens of A. retinodes, labelled A. semperflorens, have been seen in a few European herbaria, and A.Berger (Hort. Mortol. 7, 1912) included the name A. semperflorens Hort. in synonymy under A. retinodes. There is a specimen at FI (likely to have been taken from the type plant) labelled 'Acacia semperflorens. Boursault. holl. temp. 1828'; this material needs to be re-examined in order to determine its identity. R.J.Courtois, Mag. Hort. (Liege) 1: 12-13 (1833), gives the name A. semperflorens in synonymy under A. impressa Lindl. (= A. penninervis)."

  • APC Comment: A name of uncertain application, but possibly to Acacia retinodes Schltdl. (see B.R.Maslin in A.E.Orchard & A.J.G.Wilson (eds), Fl. Australia 11B: 444 (2001).
