A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 57 (1991), lists "Acacia leucosperma Maiden... nom. illeg. non E.Pritzel (1904)". However, Maiden (1917) explicitly cites the 1904 publication by Diels & Pritzel, provides a translation of their text, and places the name in synonymy of A. sclerosperma F.Muell. This is thus here considered to be a secondary reference by Maiden to A. leucosperma F.Muell. ex Pritz., rather than an attempt to publish a new name.
