Comment:A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2798 (1991), lists the name "Syncarpia procera var. glabra (C.Moore & E.Betche) Domin", published in Biblio. Bot. 89: 472 (1928). Domin states "MOORE erwahnt l.c. [Handb. Fl. New South Wales 205 (1893)] eine kahle Abart mit kleineren Bluten als var. glabra (sub Metrosideros glomulifera)." This is here treated as a observation by Domin of Moore's varietal taxon in Metrosideros glomulifera, and not a new combination.
