  • Type: "lectotype (fide Maiden, 'Delegate River, NSW', but see below)."
  • Text: "Maiden (1913) raised the taxon to specific rank, nominating the lectotype 'Delegate River, NSW, W. Baeuerlen, May 1889, National Herbarium and Technological Museum, Sydney' (p. 273)... Following appraisal of specimens held at N.S.W., L.A.S. Johnson (personal communication) concludes that the Baeuerlen material of the designated lectotype is an admixture of material (probably pre-1900) and that the entire-margin sample (in fruit) matches specimens from Nimitybelle, where Baeuerlen visited in August 1889. Since Maiden's fig. 9g is of the same cluster of fruit shown in Deane and Maiden's only drawing of E. goniocalyx var. nitens (plate XLI, fig. 4), Johnson considers it is the key portion of the type of the species, and thus of the lectotype of the variety on which the species is based."
  • Comment: Cook & Ladiges discuss the lectotypification of this name by Maiden (1913) and their subsequent communication with L.A.S.Johnson, who indicated that the lectotype may consist of material from more than one gathering. However, Cook & Ladiges did not explicitly indicate whether they agreed with Johnson's assessment or formally supersede Maiden's lectotypification.
