Lectotype:
"Northern Territory: swamps near Providence Hill, Oct. 1855, F.Mueller s.n. (lecto, here designated: MEL 2295068)."
-
Etymology:
"Derivation not given by Thwaites (1864), but probably derived from the Latin undulatus (undulate), in reference to the flexuous inflorescence branches."
-
Text:
"We have located only a single Mueller collection corresponding to Chaetospora fimbristyloides, but the label locality does not match the protologue exactly. However, it is in the same broad region, as is common for Mueller collections (which often have multiple differently expressed localities on labels for the same specimen and citations from that previously unexplored region). We have designated this specimen as lectotype, because we do not wish to presume that it is a holotype, because Mueller sent many of his collections to other institutions after they were named, and duplicate material or additional collections may be located elsewhere."
