• Text: "Though originally named foliata, it has no true leaves, but only leaf-like bracts at the nodes, and for this reason, and in honour of Mr. Ledger (who first introduced the Llama into Australia), Baron F. von Müeller requested me to change the name he had originally given to that of Ledgerii, his genus Ledgeria being reduced to a synonym ; but the Baron has since included the species in his Census under the original name of foliata."
