"Herr Ohlendorff hat diese neue species bestimmt und sr. Excellenz dem Hernn General, Grafen von Blume u. u. auf Heiligenflädten (bei Issehoe), dem um die Pflanzenzucht hochverdienten Blumenfreund, zu Ehren benannt."

"Although G.Bentham, Fl. Austral. 2: 364 (1864), treated this name as a synonym of Acacia leiophylla, I cannot, without seeing the type, determine with certainty the taxon to which this name refers. The type was not located at herb. B, GOET, HBG or W despite extensive searching."
