A reputed hybrid E. macrorhyncha subsp. macrorhyncha x E. muelleriana is the basis of E. brevirostris Blakely (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988). A reputed hybrid E. muelleriana x E. obliqua is the basis of E. obliqua var. discocarpa Blakely (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988).
