  • Etymology: "From the Latin efflorescens (to burst into flower). The name was coined by L.A.S. Johnson and K.D. Hill, and may have been chosen as an allusion to the varietal name of E. leptophylla var. floribunda (to flower abundantly) and the common name ‘Flowery Mallee’ used by Blakely (1936)."
