Etymology:
"Originally named after collector Thomas A. Gulliver (see George 2009 [i.e. A.S.George, Australian Botanist's Companion (2009)]), the replacement epithet is based on the adventures of Lemuel Gulliver on the island of Lilliput (Swift 1726 [i.e. J.Swift, Travels into several remote nations of the world (1726)]), located ‘north-west of Van Diemen’s Land’ and, hence, logically part of what is now Australia."
-
Text:
"The epithet ‘gulliveri’ is unavailable in Eragrostis, being preoccupied by Eragrostis gulliveri (F.Muell.) R.L.Barrett & P.M.Peterson."
