Lectotype:
"...'Type: Forster s.n., locality unknown (BM - Forster 319[/]482, HBG (Adelbert MS), UPS-Thunb. 25337).' The BM specimen is a much ramified sterile shoot and a fruiting piece, the latter 'dedit J Banks Eques Baronetina'. Possibly they belong together but the fruiting piece, although smaller, is the more complete and is here chosen by Fosberg as lectotype of Lycopodium volubile G. Forst."
