Etymology:
"Named after Leigh Sage, who allocated an informal name to the species in January 1999. He and the other two collectors of the type material produced a joint publication (Obbens et al. 2001) that listed this species. Leigh has worked extensively on the taxonomy of the Goodeniaceae."
