  • Type: Indonesia. West Nusa Tenggara Province: Trail from Batudulang to Punik, Mt. Batulante, west Sumbawa, 25 October 1961, A.J.G.Kostermans 19111 (holo: BRI; iso: CANB, L).
  • Etymology: "From the Greek brachys meaning short and anthos meaing flower. This is in reference to both the hermaphorite and female florets, which are shorter than in most other species of the section."
