Etymology:
"From the Latin perlarius = rounded and pearl-like, in reference to
the compact, rounded, luminescent appearance of the shrub in its brown sedgeland habitat. The luminescent appearance is due to the dense, velvety, pale, greenish-grey leaves and numerous small, white flowers."
