Asteraceae Bercht. & J.Presl
Inula graveolens (L.) Desf. , legitimate, scientific
Desfontaines, R.L. (1799), Flora Atlantica 2: 275 BHL [comb. nov.]
basionym: Erigeron graveolens L. legitimate
  • Comment: A.G.Hamilton, J. & Proc. Roy. Soc. New South Wales 26: 235 (1892), records this name as "Inula graveolens, Jacq." but without indicating a place of publication. A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 1661 (1991), lists "Inula graveolens (L.) Jacq." with the reference "Flora Atlantica 2 (Jun.–Jul. 1798) 275". However, there is no indication in R.L.Desfontaines, Fl. Atlant. 2: 275 (1799), that the name or description for this species were provided by Jacquin. These authorship citations may represent confusion with that of Inula suaveolens Jacq. (1777).
