Text:
"Blake (1940) described this taxon as a new species (Scirpus setiformis) although he based it on the same type as Bentham's S. arenarius var ? setiformis. We have no doubt they are the same plant; Blake should have instead treated S. setiformis as a new combination. Wilson (1981) followed Blake when transferring the species to Isolepis, with the author citation (S. T. Blake) K. L. Wilson. The correct author citation should be (Benth.) K. L. Wilson."

Although A.M.Muyasa and D.A.Simpson, Kew Bull. 57(1): 299-300 (2002) treat both Scirpus setiformis S.T.Blake and Isolepis setiformis (S.T.Blake) K.L.Wilson as new combinations based on Scirpus arenarius var. setiformis Benth., Blake explicitly treats his name as a new species. Blake's concept is adopted here, following ICN Art. 11.2 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
