orthographic variant: Lepidosperma amansiferrum R.L.Barrett orth. var.
  • Etymology: "Karen Wilson and Peter Wilson (both Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney) recently drew my attention to an error in the way the Latin words were combined to form this name. Constructed from the Latin words amans (loving) and ferrum (iron), the word amans, when combined with ferrum, should be declined to amanti- (Stearn 1992). This is considered a correctable error under the current International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (McNeil et al. 2006; see Article 60.8 and Recommendation 60G), thus the correct name should be cited as follows: Lepidosperma amantiferrum R.L.Barrett, Nuytsia 17: 39–40 (2007) (as ‘amansiferrum’)."
