Polyalthia armitiana F.Muell. , nom. inval., nom. nud., scientific
Mueller, F.J.H. von (December 1889), Second Systematic Census of Australian Plants: 5 BHL [primary reference]
  • Comment: Mueller cites this name as "P. Armitiana; F. v. M. in Austr. Journal of Pharmacy, Jan. 1887". While Mueller (Australas. J. Pharm. 2: 4 (1887), reprinted in Bot. Centralbl. 30(10-11): 325 (1887)) mentioned "an anonaceous plant" collected by Armit "from tributaries of the Gilbert-River" that had "meanwhile been specifically designated under the discoverer's name" he did not not definitely associate the generic name and specific epithet as required by ICN Art. 35.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018). There is no evidence of the name having been published prior to these mentions by Mueller.
