Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria (2006), Australian Plant Census: - [primary reference]
taxonomic synonym: Sisyrinchium sp. A [n/a] misapplication: Sisyrinchium micranthum Cav. legitimate by Bentham, G. (23 September 1873), Flora Australiensis 6: 412 misapplication: Sisyrinchium micranthum Cav. legitimate by Green, P.S. in Wilson, A.J.G. (ed.) (1994), Norfolk Island & Lord Howe Island. Flora of Australia 49: 515
  • APC Comment: The identity of this taxon is uncertain. G.Bentham, Fl. Austral. 6: 412 (1873) treated material of this taxon from Qld and NSW as S. micranthum Cav. P.S.Green, Fl. Australia 49: 515 (1994) also used the name S. micranthum for material from NI and LHI, as did N.T.Burbidge & M.Gray, Fl. Austral. Cap. Terr. 110 (1970) for ACT plants. However, D.A.Cooke, Fl. Australia 46: 9 (1986), T.A.James & E.A.Brown, Fl. New South Wales 4: 117 (1993) and B.J.Conn, Fl. Vic. 2: 691 (1994) treated it as Sisyrinchium sp. A. It has also been suggested that the material represents a subspecies of S. iridifolium (James & Brown 1993, Conn 1994). See also notes under S. exile and S. sp. Peregian (P.R.Sharpe 4970).
