Etymology:
"The new species epithet, quaerita (based on L. quaeritare=to explore), refers to the adventurous and 'curious' nature of the species: it has a wide distribution, spanning not only several phytogeographic regions, but also a stretch of sea, having taken up a life on at least two of the island in the Recherche Archipelago."
